RockyMounts MonoRail Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2022 BMW X7- Video
Hey, everybody. Cooper here at etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at our RockyMounts MonoRail on our 2022 BMW X7. Our bike rack is going to be a platform style bike rack, being able to hold two bikes weighted for 60 pounds each, which means our e-bikes are going to be able to be held by this, as well as, we have frameless contact, our front hook as well as our back ratchet strap, means that our carbon frame style and our alternative frame style bike racks are going to be able to be held by this bike rack. In order to gain access into our hatch, this bike rack actually comes with a foldaway feature. We just have to pull the lever, slowly took this out of the way, and they'll be able to gain access into our hatch. more

Kuat NV 2.0 2-Bike Platform Rack Review - 2022 BMW X7- Video
Hey everybody, Cooper here at etrailer and today we're going to be taking a look at our Kuat NV 2.0 on our 2022 BMW X7. Our bike rack's going to be a platform style bike rack holding up to two bikes weight rated at 60 pounds each which means our heavier e-bikes are going to be okay for this bike rack. And as we kind of notice here amongst our back strap and our front strap it's going to be frameless style contact as well which means we are going to be able to use our alternative frame bikes as well as our carbon frame bikes too. One of the really nice things about the NV is it actually comes with a tilt away feature, and then we're gonna do that by pulling our lever right here and then slowly tilting it back which is gonna allow us access into our truck. So that way if we have our shoes, our helmet back here or anything, or if we just want to sit down after our ride, before we head out for the day, we're gonna have the ability to do that. Even with the X7's additional tilt down features there's still plenty of room for me to sit down right here even put my shoe up and tie if I really wanted to. more

Now, when it comes to platform style bike racks they all do a really good job of holding onto the bike. But you do have your frame mounted ones which are gonna be pretty good at holding down the bike but it kind of limits you if you have a carbon fiber frame and sometimes with some oddball shape frames especially with new geometry. Hi there, BMW owners. Today in your 2022 BMW X3 Series, we're gonna be test fitting Kuat's NV 2 platform bike rack. This is a platform rack that offers you security by hooking your bikes by the wheels, which is great. If you have a carbon fiber bike you don't wanna clamp it onto the frame like some of the other platform styles do on a carbon fiber, it could potentially damage the frame from the vibrations. So by clamping it onto the wheels, we're able to haul pretty much just about any bike on this thing. If we take a look here at the front wheel the cradle that it sits in here does have various grooves in it for different sizes whether you're gonna be using a road bike like this it tapers down very small, up to your mountain bike sizes, it's got an opening there for those. more

Now here, we have it in the nice gunmetal color, it's also available in a pearl as well as a black. And that's something that really makes this kuat stand out. When it comes to getting a bike rack for your bike, for your vehicle, it can be a little bit tricky deciphering which one's the best for you. And I always suggest to people, if you ride a lot or plan on riding for a long time and not have to buy a new bike rack, you're best to go with a platform style. And platform does come in a little bit more of a premium price, but it really does allow you to carry any kind of bike on there safely without any sway, and I'm gonna explain why that is. more

Hello, neighbors! It's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Kuat NV 2.0 platform-style bike rack for two bikes on a 2022 BMW X3. Now, this NV is a platform-style bike rack, for two bikes in this configuration, it's also available in three different colors: you have a matte black, a gloss black, and then this nice gunmetal gray that you see here. When it comes to the world of platform-style bike racks, you have two, real, main options that separate the two and that would be your frame mount versus your wheel mount. Your frame mount is gonna be good to hold and cinch down your frame of the bike, and it's gonna keep it in place quite well. The wheel does just as good of a job, but the wheel mount putting the pressure on the tire gives you an added sense of mind that it's not gonna be scratching anything as it's clamped down on the tire, it's not gonna cause any potential marks. And also if you have a carbon frame bike, this is ideal because sometimes your frame mounts can actually cause damage and warp the frames of those carbon. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2020 BMW X3- Video
Hi there BMW owners today in your 2020 BMW X3 we're going to be taking a look at Thule's Hitching Post Pro four bike hanging style rack.This bike rack is designed to carry four bikes, and it's a hanging style rack that has pads on each of our posts to support the bike. Each one of our mounts does have an anti-sway on it, and that's going to help prevent bike to bike contact as well as bike to rack contact. The cradles where your frame will sit in, has grooves in them to allow passage for your brake cables so you don't have to worry about anything binding up or causing damage to those. You can clearly see here that it's nice and free, and the cable's going to have a nice, easy ride to its destination.The bike's secured to the cradles, using rubber straps that have varying amount of holes in them to accommodate for various thicknesses in your frame. When you're ready to remove it, simply just give those a tug and we can release those. We're going to release the one on the other side, as well as the anti-sway.We can then take our bike off. more

Today on your 2019 BMW X3, we're going to be taking a look at Swagman's XTC-2 Two-Bike Platform Rack.This two-bike platform rack is going to be a great solution for securely hauling two bikes with you behind your BMW. One of the things that I like about it is that it works in both a 2 or a 1-1/4" hitch and secures with an anti-rattle bolt. So you can see how nice and sturdy our bike is on here. I also like that it hooks with three points of contact on our bike. We have cradles for each wheel that are held in place with straps down here on the bottom as well as our hook here on top, which clamps down tightly to keep our bike in place. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 BMW X1- Video
Today on our 2015 BMW X1, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Thule T2 Classic and that's part number TH9044. It's a platform style rack, it holds two bikes with zero frame contact. We have this wheel hook upfront here, putting down pressure into the front wheel cradle here. The back, we have this adjustable wheel cradle here that's keeping our wheel in place. Like I said, it's a really nice feature for being it a no frame contact especially if you got like a carbon fiber bike or if you just don't want any scratches or anything like that. Another great feature this bike rack has is it has the ability to tilt away from our X1 so we can gain access to our rear hatch. We're going to locate this lever here. more

Today in our 2015 BMW X1, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Kuat 00:00:05 NV 2.0 platform style 2-bike rack. That's part number NV22G. So I've already got it loaded up on the X1 just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's going to hold our bikes. It actually holds our bikes with zero frame contact. We have this wheel hook here in the front, putting down pressure into the front wheel cradle. Here in the back we've got a wheel strap going over our wheel and keeping that in place. So it's a really nice feature if you've got a carbon fiber bike or a bike that you'd just like to keep from getting any scratches. Let's go ahead and point out one of the main features though. more
